I'm compiling latest release which is currently v0.5.1
Because Debian sources are out of date I built freeorion from source, build went fine.
Question 1: I cloned freeorion repo from release-v0.5.1 branch and built that, however maybe I had to build from v0.5.1 tag? if yes why? what's the difference?
To install game I simply copied the following build outputs and "default" directory from source tree to custom installation directory from where I'll run the game (in Lutris):
Reason I'm asking this is because starting the game seems slow, although I don't see any errors when running freeorion from terminal.

freeorion
freeorionca
freeoriond
libfreeorioncommon.so
libfreeorionparse.so
libGiGi.so
