Is there another condition for AI other than "Human" or rather "Not Human"?
No. That is the condition.
Curiously the "Not Human" looks to apply to multiplayer mates. I have this slightly modded local version per what I described above, to give "Not Human" bonuses, and it shows those bonuses for other players in the multiplayer game (and "Unkown" that cancels it out beause obviously)
This would mean that the client does not know that the other players are Human. Which is odd. I think the empire window shows differently for AI and Human players (i.e. the client knows which players are human).
I am back at it and would like to put the handicap bonuses for AI into next release, but I still have this issue where in muliplayer I see other players as if they were "Not Human". Is it fixable you reckon? I guess I should open an issue about it. Not like it's a showstopper to what I am doing, and only relevant to multiplayer games that would give cheatcodes to AI, but that's still a subset of folks I would rather not dissapoint with UI around this. I reckon Skyflare for instance was playing MP games with both AIs and real life people, so there's some example of such things happening in the wild
