Some more ideas how concentration might work:

pulsed shots: double the damage per arc disruptor shot, but only do it every second bout. this side-steps the issue about what to do with e.g. 3 shots.
if shooting 2nd bout and 4th bout, that would be worse alpha for normal ships, but can have nice effects in stealthed ships.

switch to short-range; has nice fluff: the arcs are better controllable at short range. so double damage in bouts 3 and 4. very similar to pulsed shots.

arc syphon; gets (mostly) powered by other ships in the same fleet; i.e. other arc disruptors in the same fleet contribute shots (i.e. usually sets shots zero on those ships) to the syphon (gets +1 shot for every 2 contributed shots). So the difference to previous idea is that the shots get concentrated and transferred instead of getting concentrated on the disruptor ship.
Probably needs to be restricted e.g. a single syphon can only collect 12 shots (I need to check if this restriction is feasible in case of multiple arc disruptors in a single ship). Disruptors from the same ship are syphoned first.
Does not need to change the damage values of the parts. Can be combined with the pulsed or short-range idea.
Needs some preparation to use, but gives a lot control (putting together a fleet with disruptors and syphons).
There are some interesting interactions/ship design choices possible (e.g. kamikaze disruptors, spatial flux hull double pre-chargers). Part should be available at least as early as arc 2. There could be techs which increase the collection capacity.

Not sure the syphon idea is balanced, but i find it interesting, and it opens up most choice (which also means it is the most moral option :mrgreen: ).

i think this would be my preferred implementation
Arc 1 : 3 shots x 2 damage
Arc 2: 3 shots x 4 damage
Arc 3: 3 shots x 6 damage
Arc 4: 4 shots x 6 damage
arc syphon, 40PP, core slot, short range weapon, soaks up up to 12 shots, double damage compared to arc disruptors, unlock it with base arc disruptors.
(or make it double as heavy: 80PP, up to 24shots)
