copy your default folder to e.g. /home/user/freeorion_resources. and try

snap run freeorion_edge --resource.path /home/user/freeorion_resources

I tried that and got Resources directory from config.xml missing or does not contain expected files. Resetting to default.

I did copy the folder with sudo cp -r /snap/freeorion_slowgame/444/usr/share/freeorion/default/ FOTarget/, was it the right folder to copy ?
(and yes I've done a chown -r later to get ownership of the folder)


Also, earlier you told me that I can change the folder in "Directories" in the option, and I succeeded (it's been a while) but now it doesn't work anymore ? When I click on the button I get three options,
[.]
[..]
[defaults]
and none of them allow me to choose the directory (a while ago, I was able to get back to the root and then down to my home by clicking on the {..], but now it just brings me back to the same folder)
